Procedure

  • Initial request: A company or design school (client) sends a request to DDiD. info@ddid.nl The first e-mail contains the company’s project proposal with at least the following information:
    • short description of the company
    • description of the product/service which needs (re)designing
    • goal of the project
    • kind of design expertise wanted
  • Preliminary intake: If the project is in line with the DDiD goals and criteria, DDiD will phone for more information about the client and the request.
  • Assignment: Request becomes assignment. The client gives DDiD the assignment.
  • Design briefing: DDiD refine the assignment and design briefing with client.
  • Confirmation: The client signs the confirmation.
  • Recruitment: DDiD recruits designer candidates from its own database.
  • Selection: DDiD selects a Dutch designer with the appropriate skills and level of experience.
  • Assignment definition: DDiD, the designer and the client together refine the assignment.
  • Contract: The client, designer and DDiD sign the project agreement in a contract.
  • Work plan: The designer prepares and develops a work plan and time schedule
  • Project: The designer works on the assignment in the local setting.
  • Report: The designer will leave the client with a draft report in English on the work done, findings and recommendations
  • Evaluation: DDiD, the client and designer evaluate the project. The designer gives a presentation of the work he/she has done.

 

Contract and financing

The contract describes the project as well as the financial responsibility for expenses. In general the local client pays for all expenses. Extra allowances and fees will have to be agreed up on case-by-case situation.
